Project Story
The Challenge
This bathroom had generic white subway tile and chrome fixtures that gave it zero personality. The homeowner had a strong design vision — warm, earthy, with a hint of Mediterranean influence — but was not sure how to pull it off without the space feeling busy or trend-driven. The shower enclosure also leaked and needed a full rebuild.
Our Approach
We anchored the design around terracotta hexagonal floor tile, which immediately set the warm, earthy tone. A custom oak vanity with brass hardware brings natural warmth, while the zellige tile shower surround adds handmade texture without overwhelming the space. We rebuilt the shower from the pan up with proper waterproofing and a glass enclosure, then finished with a brass rain showerhead that ties the metal finishes together.
The Result
The bathroom now feels like it belongs in a design magazine — warm, layered, and completely original. The terracotta and zellige combination gives it that Mediterranean character the homeowner envisioned, but it still feels timeless rather than trendy. The shower leak is ancient history with the new waterproofing system. Done in about three and a half weeks.
