Project Story
The Challenge
The homeowner wanted to turn a cramped, poorly lit bathroom into a spa-like sanctuary. The existing layout wasted space with an awkward linen closet placement, the tile was cracked, and the single overhead light made the room feel clinical. They specifically asked for a soaking tub and a design that would help them unwind after long workdays.
Our Approach
We chose sage green vertical subway tile as the defining element, running it floor to ceiling to create a calming, enveloping atmosphere. A brushed brass rain shower system and built-in recessed niche add luxury without clutter. We repositioned the layout to fit a soaking tub with a matching tile surround and installed natural stone floor tile for organic texture. The overall palette — greens, brass, and stone — was designed to feel like a retreat from San Francisco's pace.
The Result
The homeowner calls it their favorite room in the house and said it completely changed their evening routine. The sage green tile shifts beautifully with the natural light throughout the day. Every visitor asks about the color. We delivered the project in three weeks, and the homeowner said it was worth every penny and every day of construction.
